Hi,
I run WP hosting services, mostly on nginx.
I have things set up so that the Unix owner of the files (eg shoeshop) is different from the PHP execution user (eg shoeshop-www)
This so that when a hole opens up in Wordpress or a plugin, the miscreants who exploit the hole can't rewrite the core...
I was using Version 87.0.4272.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
I've just updated to
Version 87.0.4273.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
and the problem has gone away. Phew!
I guess that's the fun of using Canary :)
Thanks,
Danny
I've started using Chrome Canary for my browsing, to avoid a high CPU bug in Chrome's cache engine.
A week ago I started getting ERR_HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR from Openlitepspeed websites when using Chrome Canary.
Edge, Firefox, Opera and normal Chrome are OK, but Chrome Canary is not.
Apache/Nginx...
Hi @papa zulu ,
I agree with your finding that the listener is not fully released by the FreeBSD kernel from binding to *:7080as fast as it should be.
The problem seemed to go away for me when I configured the system to the specific jail IP.
The "lo" in my message is actually an old English...
I've detailed issues with 1.6.4 in a different thread. With 1.6.4 I got as far as
Making all in sslpp
make[3]: don't know how to make all. Stop
Makefile is zero bytes for this.
root@vws2:~/openlitespeed-1.6.4 # ls -l src/sslpp/Makefile

Don't know if this is correct, yet, but I got past the ./configure errors with the following:
touch src/adns/Makefile.in
cd src
fetch --no-verify-peer https://github.com/litespeedtech/lsquic/archive/master.zip
unzip -q master.zip
mv lsquic-master lsquic
ln -s lsquic/src/liblsquic .

Hi,
I've got stuck at ./configure, and I'm not a "real C dev" so I don't use and understand the autotools properly.
configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating Makefile
config.status: creating src/Makefile
config.status: creating src/edio/Makefile
config.status: creating...
The strong reason is that I have a client with a Wordpress website and a webapp, both running on www.domain.com
The web app is old, running PHP 5.4, and it will take time to migrate it to PHP7.x if that ever happens.
I want to move the Wordpress site to PHP7 in a completely different vhost...
Is it possible to have www.domain.com and domain.com as separate vhosts with separate document roots etc?
I remember seeing somewhere, a while ago, that OpenLiteSpeed automatically folds the two together, but I would like to separate them.
If so, how can I do it?
If I need to hack the code...
I was just about to hit Send on a long PM with login details etc, when I realised that all of the listeners were using 0.0.0.0 and that might cause conflicts if you used chroot and not jail.
So I changed the HTTP, HTTPS and ADMIN listeners to the specific IP address of the jail and lo! Graceful...
I've looked into this a bit more.
It's got something to do with the admin tcp socket not being released during clean up, I think.
This is what ps and sockstat look like with the server running
root@vws8:~ # date ; sockstat | grep 7080 ; ps -ax | grep open

@Rob No worries.
Please have my suggestions as a gift (no need to steal) and go forth and make a port.
I and future generations will thank you!

Danny
SOLVED!
The key was that in FreeBSD 11.x security/openssl-devel installs OpenSSL v 1.1.x, while security/openssl installs OpenSSL v1.0.2
OLSWS only builds currently against OpenSSL v1.0.2 so installing the security/openssl-devel simply won't work.
So, assuming you are starting with a...
